FAQ's
- ABOUT THE SUBMISSION PROCESS
- How do I submit?
- What is a Showcase?
- On Citymart.com, Showcases are a presentation of your innovative solution in a rich format that complies with global sustainability standards. Showcases combine public descriptions, multimedia assets, conversations, evaluations and validation tools.
- Do Showcase Submissions have to be existing solutions or can they be designs for new solutions?
-
Only solutions that already exist (including prototypes, pilots, pre-commercial solutions – i.e. those that are ready for pilot deployment without major further development at the time of evaluation) are accepted.
- Can I submit to a specific Challenge?
- No. Showcases will automatically be considered for all relevant Challenges. As a result, a Showcase may be reviewed by more than one city.
Citymart.com uses this flexible and open model in order to maximize opportunities for every Showcase.
The evaluation report will indicate which City Jury has reviewed your Showcase.
- Are Showcases submitted going to be published in Citymart.com?
-

- ABOUT THE PARTNERS
- Can my organisation get involved in the LLGA as a Partner or Sponsor?
-
Yes. If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities as part of LLGA, please contact media@livinglabs-global.com for information about the available options. As a sponsor, you will not receive any preference if you have submitted a Showcase. The Jury will work under strict instructions to treat all entries equally and declare any conflict of interest.
- ABOUT THE EVALUATION AND JURY
- When will the Evaluation Process begin?
- The evaluation process will begin within one week of the submission deadline.
- How does the evaluation and jury process work?
-
Each City Partner will have its own Jury and will evaluate Showcases against their Challenge. In the first stage, City Jurors will be given online access to all relevant Showcases and will rate them against the eight evaluation criteria. Jurors may also contact Showcases in writing using the tools available on Citymart.com.
For each Challenge the 5 Showcases with the highest scores will be nominated and these will be announced in March 2013.
In the second stage, nominated Showcases are given 3 days to confirm their participation in Round 2 including attending the LLGA | Cities Summit in May 2013. Upon acceptance, they are asked to respond to a Confidential Pilot Questionnaire and submit a 3 minute Multimedia Presentation to support their Showcase. Each City Jury will evaluate all material submitted by the nominees (Showcase, Questionnaire and Multimedia Presentation). A winning solution and 4 runners-up will be determined by the Jury.
The final results will be presented during the 3-day LLGA | Cities Summit on Service Innovation in Cities.
- Is the City Jury the same for each City Challenge?
-
No. Each City Partner, together with Citymart.com, nominates a Jury of 5-10 local and international experts presided over by the City Partner. There may be Jury members participating in more than one City Challenge, but this is entirely at the discretion of each City Partner.
All criteria will be evaluated by the City Jury, except for the impact on ecology criteria which will be evaluated by a special group of experts led by The Climate Group for all entries.
- Who participates in the City Jury?
- We will not disclose names of Jurors until after the after the cities make their final decision, in order to avoid lobbying by Showcase owners or otherwise. The City Jury members will represent different relevant sectors with expertise in the City Partner Challenge.
- What are the evaluation criteria used by the jurors?
-
Eight overall criteria will be applied by the juries in the evaluation of the Showcases. Visit the key information page for further details.
- When will I know the scoring of my Showcase(s)?
-
Only Showcases that are complete and relevant to at least one of the City Challenges will be evaluated. If your Showcase is evaluated, you will be able to access the evaluation results after the LLGA | Cities Summit. This will include a list of jurors that have reviewed your Showcase and their anonymous rating against the City Partner Challenge or Challenges that you were allocated to. Note, that Citymart.com will not accept legal or other challenges against these results and/or the overall LLGA process.
- Will you publish the evaluation of the showcases?
-
Citymart.com will provide the evaluation results (0 to 5) to the owners of Showcases after the Cities Dialogue & Award Ceremony of the LLGA | Cities Summit, and they can publish these as part of their Showcase presentation. Results may be used for research purposes, but with strict obligations on anonymity not to publicly reveal evaluation results.Scores above 3.0 will be displayed in the track record of the Showcase and thus made public. You can unpublish these results at any time. Equally, you can publish results under 3.0 if you wish to do so.
- ABOUT NOMINEES AND WINNERS
- What will happen if I am nominated?
-
If you are nominated you will be invited to respond to a Pilot Questionnaire and submit a Multimedia Presentation (3 minute video) to complement your Showcase. You will also be expected to attend the LLGA | Cities Summit on Service Innovation in Cities in May 2013, during which the winners will be announced.
- What will happen if I win?
-
After being named a winner, you will work with the City Partner responsible for the City Challenge to review the best way to pilot your solution in their city. Given that each City Challenge and Showcase is very different in scale, complexity and type, a customized process will be developed in order to pilot and evaluate your solution.
- Will there be press coverage about LLGA and its winners?
-
Yes. Citymart.com together with the Communication Departments of the City and Corporate Partners work to disseminate information about LLGA through a variety of print, online and new media. Winners and nominees will be announced as part of this process, as will the results of the pilots.
If you wish to conduct any PR activities related to LLGA, your participation or to promote information in your network or community, please contact rp@citymart.com
